Here’s a quick checklist to work from:
Turbo beam ventilators and roof valves are an ideal ways to ensure air circulates within your attic area, so is a ventilated ladder fascia, as this allows cool air from within your home enter the attic space.
Do you need a power outlet in your attic? What about a light with a switch near where you enter the attic? It makes sense to have it installed at the time we are installing your attic storage area.
How about storage boxes and containers? We have a range at our showroom we can show you. Also think about hanging storage, will you be storing your out of season clothes up there?
If noise may be an issue to those downstairs, maybe cork tiles for the floor?
What about a roof window to take advantage of any views you may have from your attic? We stock a large range of roof windows (link to windows page) and they come in manual or electric automatic remote control (they shut if it rains) styles.
A balustrade is a good idea, it fits around the opening in your attic floor, and it prevents any little accidents, like falling down the ladder hole!
Insulation between the floor and ceiling is always advisable; we can quote you with a range of insulation materials to suit your situation.
Kick-boards are supplied as an option. We use additional structa-floor panels to a height of 400mm around all the walls, just in case you put your foot, or box etc through the White-cell insulation we use in our dust proof rooms.
Access panels can be installed if you require further access into your roof space; it’s a panel that lifts away from the White-cell insulation for say, the inspection and servicing of your air conditioner annually.
